Authors receive 50% (or 40%, depending on editing time) of the purchase price, less credit card fees.

You also might notice that you’re receiving different amounts for the same resource.

When a price is shown other than 50% of the retail price, the customer has applied some sort of shopping cart discount code. In most cases, this is from the membership discounts or store credit (a member used her remaining $2.45 credit for a $4 game.) 

Aside from membership discounts, most discount codes only slightly vary the price, with a few exceptions: in the case of a significant discount, it’s likely the customer applied a scholarship promo code. Thanks to the generosity of a few local businessmen, each month DYM is able to give scholarships to a handful of churches. These scholarship codes make the final price very low and, thus, the author split (50% or 40%) is small. We're grateful to be part of helping these churches win, so we hope you see those small amounts as a cool partnership with the global Church.
